Family Reunion
Get the extended gang together for some old-fashioned fun that involves great food and get-to-know-you-better games. After a rousing potato-sack race or badminton match, fill up on a feast of grilled steak and hot dogs (for the kids) and family stories.
There’s something for everyone on this tasty summer spread. For the younger set, a build-your-own hot dog bar is fun and filling. Try a chili dog with Creamy Ranch Relish. Stir together equal parts sour cream, mayonnaise and crunchy cole slaw mix.
Reunion Raps
Personalize your paper products and serveware as a decorative element. Even the paper towel rolls get into the act with a wrapping of color-coordinated scrapbooking paper and “medallions” cut out from computer printouts. The same medallions – on a smaller scale – add a splash of color to the flatware. Wrap around and tape it on the back.
Conversation Cups
Serve up a batch of refreshing Arnold Palmers – half lemonade and half iced tea. Label each cup with a name tag and a family photo. Hand the cups out randomly (not necessarily to the person pictured on the cup) as conversation ice-breakers.
