Cupcakes in a Jar
Here’s a treat that will delight both kids and adults alike – a cupcake in a jar! Avoid the mess of cupcake wrappers and sticky fingers by presenting your cupcake in a 1/2 pint jar that guests can gobble up with a fork.
For the cupcakes shown above, follow these simple instructions. You will need 2 containers of vanilla frosting, orange food coloring, sprinkles, 24 chocolate cupcakes, and 16 1/2 pint jars. This makes 16 servings. Tint 2/3 of your vanilla frosting with orange food coloring and leave 1/3 of the frosting white. Transfer the two frosting colors into pastry bags fitted with star tips – or use a zip-top plastic bag with the corner snipped.
Cut each chocolate cupcake in half horizontally. Set one cupcake half into a jar and pipe orange frosting in a swirl on top. Set another cupcake half on top of the frosting and pipe a white swirl on top. Set a third cupcake half on top and pipe a swirl of orange frosting on top. Decorate with sprinkles.
