Pail of Petals

What better way to welcome April showers and (hopefully soon-to-arrive!) May flowers than with a stunning floral arrangement. First, pick up an inexpensive cake pedestal and decorative metal pail at a discount department store; spray-paint both with pastel shades. Let dry, apply a second coat, and let dry completely. Place florist foam in the bottom of the pail and sit the pail on top of the pedestal. Then insert as many spring flowers (think dafodils, tulips, and cherry blossoms) as can fit, letting some cascade down the side. If you like, add a vintage parasol(You can find one, patterned or plain, online or at your local flea market.) Using a bolt cutter, clip the end of the parasol and insert handle into the center of the foam.
