FOR BLEU CHEESE BUTTER:

  • 4 tablespoons butter

  • 2 tablespoons bleu cheese crumbles, Treasure Cave®


FOR BACON-STUFFED BURGERS:

  • 11⁄2 pounds lean ground beef

  • 1⁄2 cup bleu cheese crumbles, Treasure Cave®

  • 1⁄4 cup real bacon pieces, Hormel®

  • 1 tablespoon Montreal steak seasoning, McCormick® Grill Mates®

  • Salt and ground black pepper

  • Onion rolls, toasted

  • Lettuce, tomato slices, and onion slices

  • Avocado slices (optional)

Directions

  1. For Bleu Cheese Butter, in a small bowl, mash together butter and the 2 tablespoons bleu cheese crumbles with a fork; set aside.

  2. Set up grill for direct cooking over high heat. Oil grate when ready to start cooking.

  3. For Bacon-Stuffed Burgers, in a large bowl, combine ground beef, the 1⁄2 cup bleu cheese crumbles, the bacon pieces, and the steak seasoning. Form into 4 patties* slightly larger than the rolls. (Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate if not cooking immediately.)

  4. Season burgers with salt and pepper. Place on hot, oiled grill. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes per side for medium (160 degrees F).

  5. Spread toasted onion rolls with Bleu Cheese Butter. Serve hot burgers on the rolls with lettuce, tomato, onion. Top with avocado slices (optional).


*TIP: Wet your hands before forming patties to prevent sticking.

INDOOR METHOD:
Preheat broiler. Prepare burgers as directed. Place burgers on wire rack over foil-lined sheet pan or broiler pan. Place 6 inches from heat source. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes per side for medium (160 degrees F). Serve as directed.
