Yankee Doodle Dad’s Day
Celebrate our freedom and salute the dads you know and love with an outdoor red-white-and-blue buffet. Keep it casual with a serve-yourself setup and tableware.
Accent Pieces
Use cloth bandanas for napkins, rolling utensils inside and arranging them in metal buckets for buffet-style service. Bring height and color to the table with small American flags placed in the buckets along with the utensils.
Centerpiece
Toss a solid-colored cloth over your outdoor table. Purchase white and red daisies at the grocery store, place them in red or blue plastic cups, and scatter them around the table and serving areas.
Favors
Place bandanas on each person seat to wear during the Father's Day festivities and to take home after your gathering.
Food and Drinks
Stitch together a pair of bandanas for this easy chair covering, then tie on a card designating Dad’s place of honor at the head of the table (or in the shade, if he prefers). Once your guests are seated, serve Potato Salad, Grilled Corn, and Grilled New York Strips. For dessert, pass Watermelon-Blueberry Layered Salad and Red and White Cupcakes with Sprinkles.
